A34 TRUNK ROAD (NEAR OXFORD) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A34 Trunk Road in the County of Oxfordshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order is to authorise:-
1. the overnight closure of:

(i) the southbound carriageway of the A34 at Botley Interchange (A420);

(ii) the northbound carriageway of the A34 between Hinksey Hill Interchange (A423) and Botley Interchange (A420);

(iii) the slip road leading to the northbound carriageway of the A34 at Hinksey Hill

Interchange (A423);
(iv) the slip road leading to the southbound carriageway of the A34 at South Hinksey Junction;

(v) the slip road leading to the southbound carriageway of the A34 at Botley Interchange (A420); and

(vi) access to and from the A34 at Westminster Way.

2. the 24 hour closure of the lay-by adjacent to the northbound carriageway of the A34 between points 570m and 800m north of South Hinksey overbridge.

These measures are in the interests of road
safety while contractors undertake inspections
and all associated works.
It is expected that the work will last for
approximately 3 nights starting on or after
Monday 16th October 2017. The overnight
closures will take place between 20:00 and 06:00
(maximum period).
The Order will come into force on
14 October 2017 and have a maximum duration
of eighteen months.
Traffic affected by the closures will be diverted via other junctions of the A34, and using the
A423, A4142, A40, A44, A420, and A4074.
The diversion route will vary depending on the closure in place.
The temporary closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
