CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 29th day of September 2017 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1) and (2). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to makean OrderunderSection 14(1) ofthe Actin respectofeach ofthe locations numbered (3), (4), (5) and (6).
(1) HOWDEN LANE, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Howden Lane, York between points 480 and 570 metres east of its junction with A19 (closed road) during the period when culvert repair works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0730hrs on the 9th day of October 2017 and ending at 1600hrs on the 13th day of October 2017 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(2) SIXTH AVENUE, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Sixth Avenue, York between its junctions with Third Avenue and Poplar Tree Gardens (closed road) during the period when carriageway reconstruction works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0800hrs on the 9th day of October 2017 and ending at 1700hrs on the 13th dayofOctober 2017(works period) or ata time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(3) THANET ROAD, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Thanet Road, York between its junctions with Foxwood Road and the access road to York Acorn Rugby League Car Park (closed road) during the period commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 1600hrs on the 22nd day of October 2017 (works period) or at time when road safety improvement works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(4) HAXBY STATION LEVEL CROSSING, HAXBY This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding through the Haxby Station Level Crossing on Station Road, Haxby (closed road) during the period commencing at 2230hrs on the 28th dayof October 2017 and ending at0900hrs on the 29th dayof October 2017 (works period) or at time when track maintenance works have been completed whichever is the earlier. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Station Road, Towthorpe Road, Strensall Road, A1237, York Road, Station Road and vice versa.
(5) MILLFIELD LANE, NETHER POPPLETON This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding through Nether Poppleton Level Crossing, Millfield Lane, Nether Poppleton (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 2300hrs on the 1stdayofNovember 2017 and ending at0600hrs on the 2nd dayofNovember 2017 or on a date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. The prohibition on traffic (other than local buses) at the junction of Millfield Lane and Low Poppleton Lane will be suspended during the periods when the prohibition at the crossing is put into effect. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Low Poppleton Lane, A59 Boroughbridge Road, A1237 York Outer Ring Road, Link Road between the A1237 and Millfield Lane and vice versa.
(6) BACK LANE, WIGGINTON This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Back Lane, Wigginton (closed road) during the period commencing at 0800hrs on the 16th day of October 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 21st day of October 2017 (work period) or at time when telecommunication works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the works will be completed in two phases during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Order will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/ restrictions.
