(NORTH BAILEY, DURHAM CITY) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2017

The Council proposes in not less than 7 days from the date of this notice to make the following 2 Orders under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended:
(NORTH BAILEY, DURHAM CITY) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2017
The effect will be to close to all vehicular traffic a 190m length of North Bailey that extends southwards from its junction with Owengate/Saddler Street to and including its junction with Bow Lane, Durham by reason of essential gas main replacement works to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is required from 09/10/17 (between 9am - 3pm) for the duration of the works anticipated to be 4 weeks. Alternative route: There is no alternative route available.
(REDHILLS LANE, DURHAM) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2017
The effect will be to close to all vehicular traffic a 410m length of Redhills Lane between its junctions with the access to the Redhills Durham Miners Hall and the junction between no.5 Grays Terrace and no.40 Redhills Lane, Durham by reason of street lighting works to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is requiredfrom09/10/17 between9:30amand3:30pmeach day for the duration of the works anticipated to be 3 weeks. Alternative route: from the eastern side of the closure from Sutton Street northerly on North Road to A691 and County Hall Roundabout then generally north westerly on A691 Southfield Way to A167 Sniperley Roundabout turning southwards on A167 to the junction with Redhills Lane to the western side of the closure.
However, on rare occasions, alternative dates for the above 2 closures may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
