ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14 THE M6 MOTORWAY (JUNCTIONS 37-36 SOUTHBOUND CARRIAGEWAY) [TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2017
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (Company No. 09346363) has made an Order on the M6 Motorway In the District of South Lakeland in the County of Cumbria to enable surface patching and renewal of road markings; to be carried out in safety. The Order will:
(i) impose a 50 mph speed restriction on all traffic on the M6 southbound carriageway, from a point 150 metres north of the centreline of Bull Copy overbridge, to a point 400 metres south of the centreline of Sillfield overbridge;
(ii) allow the hardshoulder adjacent to the M6 southbound carriageway, from a point 100 metres north of the centreline of Hutton overbridge, to a point 1000 metres south of the centreline of Hutton overbridge, to be used as a running lane. A speed limit of 50 mph will be in force on the hardshoulder when being used as a running lane. Restriction i, is expected to be in place during a continuous period starting at 1800 hours on Monday 9 October 2017 and ending at 0600 hours on Friday 13 October 2017. However, work may start and continue beyond these dates until completed. Restriction ii, is expected to be in place overnight between 2000 hours and 0500 hours, during a period starting on Monday 9 October 2017 and ending on Friday 13 October 2017. However, work may start and continue between the same times on subsequent nights, until completed. Throughout the works period there will be two running lanes maintained on the M6 southbound carriageway during the daytime (0600 hours to 2000 hours), and one running lane maintained during the night time (2001 hours to 0559 hours), as indicated by traffic signs. The restrictions will not apply to emergency services or special-forces vehicles and will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
