DEPARTMENT FOR TRANSPORT ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR TRANSPORT hereby gives notice in accordance with the Special Roads (Notice of Opening) Regulations 1992 that, for the purposes of section 17(5) and all other relevant provisions of the above Act, the lengths of special road described in the following Schedule will open for use as a special road on the dates stated below.

THE SCHEDULE A1(M) Leeming to Catterick Section Route of the A1(M) becoming motorway on 22nd September 2017 The A1(M) northbound carriageway from a point 465 metres north of Leeming Junction (Junction 51), in a northerly direction for a distance of approximately 4.87 miles (7.85km), to a point 1.3km south of Catterick Junction (Junction 52), all in the County of North Yorkshire. The A1(M) southbound carriageway from a point 250 metres south of Catterick Junction (Junction 52), in a southerly direction for a distance of approximately 5.53 miles (8.9km), to a point 465 metres north of Leeming Junction (Junction 51), all in the County of North Yorkshire.

Routes of the Connecting Roads:

(1) A6055 Leeming Junction (Junction 51) on 22nd September 2017
One route to connect the A6055 Trunk Road Leeming Junction (Junction 51) western roundabout to the A1 northbound carriageway of the motorway. One route to connect the A1 southbound carriageway of the motorway to the A6055 Trunk Road Leeming Junction (Junction 51) eastern roundabout.

(2) Catterick Junction (Junction 52) on 22nd September 2017
One route to connect the A6055 County Road eastern roundabout at Catterick Junction (Junction 52) to the A1 southbound carriageway of the motorway.
