M1 MOTORWAY (HERTFORDSHIRE) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the M1 Motorway in the County of Hertfordshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order would be to authorise the overnight closure of:

(i) the slip road leading from the northbound carriageway of the M1 at Junction 5 (A41/A4008); and
(ii) the slip roads leading to and from the southbound carriageway of the M1 at Junction 6(A405), and Mount Pleasant Lane at its junction with these slip roads.

These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake carriageway works, inspections and all associated works. It is expected that the work would last for approximately 10 weeks starting on or after Monday 9th October 2017. The overnight closures would take place between the following times (maximum period):

Monday - Thursday nights 22:00-05:30
Friday nights 23:00-06:00
Saturday nights 22:00-06:00
Sunday nights 22:30-05:30

The Order would come into force on 7 October 2017 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months. Traffic affected by the closuredescribed in

(i) above would be diverted northbound to M1 Junction 6and return.Traffic affected by the closures described in
(ii) above would be diverted using other junctions of the M1, and A405, Ashridge Drive, Jenkins Avenue, Old WatfordRoad, The Uplands and West Riding. The diversion route would vary depending on desired destination.
The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they areinoperation during the works period.
