(A68 FIR TREE) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2017

The Council on 07 September 2017 made an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, to close to all vehicular traffice a 630 mtr length of the A68 between Redmires Farm and York House, Fir Tree by reason of carriageway resurfacing works to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is required between 09.00 & 15.00 hours on 20 September 2017 and between 1900 & 0600 hours on 22 & 25 September 2017. However, on rare occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.

Alternative route: northern side of the closure from A689/A689 Harperley Roundabout, eastwards via A689 to Crook then southwards on A689 to Princes Street Roundabout Bishop Auckland, continuing on Bob Hardisty Drive and Cockton Hill Road/ Watling Road then south westerly on A688 to the junction with A68 at Hummerbeck Roundabout, West Auckland leading to the southern side of the closure, and vice versa.
