CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 7th day of September 2017 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3) and (4). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (5) and (6).
(1) VICTOR STREET, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Victor Street (closed road) during the period when gas main replacement works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0001hrs on 11th day of September 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 22nd day of October 2017 or at a time and date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the works will be undertaken in 3 phases during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(2) SCARBOROUGH TERRACE, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Scarborough Terrace, York (closed road) during the period when electricity works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 20th day of September 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 26th day of September 2017 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(3) LINK ROAD CONNECTING YORK ROAD AND FRONT STREET, ACOMB This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in the south bound traffic lane of Link Road connecting York Road & Front Street, Acomb (closed traffic lane) during the period when nearby telecommunication works being undertaken by crane operation from within the closed traffic lane, that period commencing at 0001hrs and ending at 2400hrs on the 10th day of September 2017 or ata time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(4) DENNIS STREET, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Dennis Street, York from the junction with Piccadilly north east for 30 metres (closed road) during the period when delivery works being undertaken by crane operation from the closed road that period commencing at 0700hrs and ending at 1800hrs on the 15th day of September 2017 (works period) or at a time and date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put into effect between 0800hrs and 1300hrs during the works period. No alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(5) BOOTHAM, GILLYGATE & ST LEONARD'S PLACE, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of ~
(i) Bootham, York between its junctions with Gillygate and Bootham Row
(ii) Gillygate, York between its junction with St Leonard's Place and the northern property boundary of Millers Yard and (iii) St Leonard's Place, York between its junction with Gillygate and the northern property boundaryofNo. 9 StLeonard's Place(closed road)duringthe period commencing at 1900hrs on the 25th day of September 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 26th day of September 2017 (works period) or at time when resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put in to effect during an overnight period, between 1900hrs and 0500hrs on the first two nights during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(6) FOSSGATE, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Fossgate, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 1800hrs on the 17th day of September 2017 (works period) or at time when highway safety improvement works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period. The above temporary Order will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns.
