Dorset County Council Temporary Traffic Management Order A35, Upton By-Pass Speed Restriction

DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. The order will come into operation on Monday 09 October 2017 and will remain in force for 18 months. However it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Wednesday 18 October 2017. The order is to create a safer working area for Southern Electric, who require a lane closure on the dual carriageway east of the A350 slip road to enable them to access their equipment on Upton Heath.

The effect of the order is as follows:
[1] To impose temporary 50mph and 30mph speed limits upon the eastbound carriageway of the A35, UPTON BY-PASS and the slip road from the A350 roundabout for a distance of approximately 900 metres.
