A34 TRUNK ROAD (NEAR WINCHESTER) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A34 Trunk Road in the County of Hampshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order is to authorise the overnight closure of the road leading to the northbound carriageway of the A34 at Three Maids Hill (A272/B3420). These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake sign replacement and all associated works. It is expected that the work will last for approximately 9 weeks starting on or after Monday 25th September 2017. The overnight closures will take place between 22:00 and 06:00 (maximum period). The Order will come into force on 23 September 2017 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months. Traffic affected by the closure will be diverted using the A34 southbound to M3 Junction 9 roundabout and return.
The temporary closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
