Temporary Traffic Management Order Knights in the Bottom, Chickerell
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. The order will come into operation on 2 October 2017 and will remain in force for 18 months. However it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 22nd December 2017. The order is to create a safer working area for Wessex Water whilst they install a new water main. The effect of the order is as follows;
[1] To impose a temporary 30mph speed limit upon KNIGHTS IN THE BOTTOM, CHICKERELL, a total distance of approximately 950 metres.

Temporary Closure of Jessops Cottage, Hillfield
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along HILLFIELD from Jessops Cottage in a northerly direction for 300 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on 18 September 2017 and will remain in force for 18 months. However it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 6 October 2017 This order will enable Wessex Water, safe access to replace a water main. An alternative vehicular route will be signed using; Hillfield Lane

Temporary Closure of Public Bridleway 22, Bere Regis
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic [Temporary Restrictions] Act 1991. All pedestrians, horse-riders and cyclists will be prohibited from proceeding along Bridleway 22, Bere Regis at the following two points:
1. Grid reference SY 851 937, for a distance of approximately 5 metres; and
2. Grid reference SY 850 936, for a distance of approximately 5 metres.
The notice is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It came into operation on Wednesday 15 March 2017, for a period of 6 months. But now it will be extended again, and will be in operation until Wednesday 14 March 2018, a further 6 month period. The Notice can be extended again in due course if necessary. This closure is needed due to the installation of cattle grids making the surface of the bridleway unsuitable for public to use. The closure will be in operation until the Public Bridleway is formally diverted onto the gated cattle grid by-pass.
Bypass routes have been provided to the north of the cattle grids allowing access along the remainder of the bridleway. Temporary Traffic Management Order, Various Roads, Portland
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. The order will come into operation at 00:01hrs on the 02nd October 2017, and will remain in force for 18 months. However it is anticipated that the works will be completed by the 14th October 2017 at 23:59hrs. The specific dates and times for the restrictions are listed below. The order is to allow Dorset Highways safe access to carry out resurfacing and carriageway maintenance work. The effect of this Order is as follows;
[A] To impose a 20mph speed limit on New Road, Portland, between Yeates (Portland Heights) roundabout and the junction with High Street, Portland. The speed limit will be in operation between 21:00hrs, and 06:00hrs daily, commencing the 02nd October 2017 and being in place until 10th October 2017. A convoy system and temporary traffic signals will be in operation throughout this duration.
[B] To close High Street Portland, from its junction with Fortuneswell to its junction with Brandy Row, a distance of approximately 340 metres. The closure will be in operation between 21:00hrs and 06:00hrs daily commencing 10th October 2017 and remaining in place until 14th October 2017.
[C] To impose a parking suspension on High Street, Portland from the junction with Fortuneswell, to the junction with Brandy Row and also on Fortuneswell, Portland from the junction with High Street, to the junction with Verne Common Road. The parking suspension will be in operation between 19:00hrs and 06:00hrs daily, commencing the 10th October 2017 and remianing in place until 14th October 2017.
[D] To revoke the existing one way order, on Fortuneswell, Portland between the junction with the High Street and the junction with Verne Common Road, a distance of approximately 400 metres, for the duration of the closure of High Street, Portland, described in [B] above.
[E] Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
