ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984-SECTION 14 THE A64 TRUNK ROAD (HOPGROVE ROUNDABOUT TO SCOTCHMAN LANE JUNCTION) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A64
Trunk Road, in the District of Ryedale and the City of York, to enable carriageway resurfacing, road marking, stud renewal and associated works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to start on Sunday 1 October 2017 for 3 months, or until completed. The effect of the Order will be, between 8pm and 6am, at times during the works, to:
(i) close the A64 eastbound and westbound carriageways from its junction with Hopgrove Roundabout to Scotchman Lane Junction, a distance of 7403 metres;
(ii) close the bus stop areas adjacent to the A64 eastbound carriageway approximately 760 metres east and approximately 1448 metres east of Towthorpe Lane Junction;
(iii) close the bus stop area adjacent to the A64 eastbound carriageway approximately 15 metres east of Whinny Lane Junction;
(iv) close the bus stop areas adjacent to the A64 westbound carriageway approximately 75 metres west and 2575 metres west of Scotchman Lane Junction;
(v) close the bus stop areas adjacent to the A64 westbound carriageway approximately 18 metres west, 1448 metres west and 2007 metres west of Whinny Lane Junction;
(vi) ban vehicles from entering of leaving the A64 eastbound carriageway at its junctions with North Lane, Towthorpe Moor Lane and Whinny Lane; and
(vii) ban vehicles from entering or leaving the A64 (ii) westbound carriageway at its junctions with Barr Lane, Common Lane, Sand Hutton Lane and Whinny Lane.
During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available. It will also be necessary to close, 24 hours a day, for the duration of the works, the laybys adjacent to the A64:
(i) eastbound carriageway approximately 1448 east and 5472 metres east of Hopgrove Roundabout; and
(ii) westbound carriageway approximately 1931 meters west of Scotchman Lane Junction.
The Order comes into force on 31 September 2017 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
THE A64 TRUNK ROAD (MALTON ROAD TO STAXTON ROUNDABOUT) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A64 Trunk Road, in the District of Ryedale, to enable carriageway repair works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to start on Monday 2 October 2017 for 5 weeks or until completed. The effect of the Order will be, at times during the works, between 8pm and 6am Sunday to Thursday nights, and between 8pm on Friday 6 October 2017 and 6am on Monday 9 October 2017 and between the same times over subsequent weekends, to:
(i) close the A64 eastbound and westbound carriageways from Springfield Terrace Junction to 365 metres east of St Hilda's Street Junction, a distance of 700 metres;
(ii) close the A64 eastbound carriageway between the exit and entry slip roads at the A169/B1257 Pickering Junction, a distance of 520 metres;
(iii) ban vehicles from entering or leaving the A64 at its junction with St Hilda's Street;
(iv) close the bus stop area adjacent to the A64 westbound carriageway approximately 94 metres west of St Hilda's Street Junction; and
(v) close the bus stop areas adjacent to the A64 eastbound carriageway approximately 57 metres west of St Hilda's Street Junction and 5 metres east of Millfield Junction.
During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times. It will be necessary, for 24 hours a day, for the duration of the works, to impose a temporary 40mph and at times a 10mph speed restriction on
the A64:
(i) eastbound and westbound carriageways from Carr Lane Junction to 880 metres east of Carr Lane Junction, a distance of 880 metres; and
(ii) eastbound and westbound carriageways from 500 metres east of St Hilda's Street Junction to Springfield Terrace Junction, a distance of 875 metres.
The 10mph speed restriction will only apply when, for safety reasons, traffic has to be escorted through the works by a highway maintenance vehicle; It will also be necessary, for 24 hours a day, for the duration of the works to close the layby adjacent to the A64 eastbound carriageway approximately 102 metres west of St Hilda's Street Junction.
The Order comes into force on 1 October 2017 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
Traffic management will be in force 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). Access will be maintained at all times to premises and property which are accessible from, and only from, the A64.
