Notice of Temporary Traffic Order Oxford, Castle Street & Norfolk Street
Prohibition of Through Traffic Works commence: 4 September 2017
Temporary traffic orders are in place because of road re-construction works associated with the Westgate Centre redevelopment.This notice is to advise of further road closures for an anticipated to take 2 weeks. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding or waiting in the whole lengths of Castle Street & Norfolk Street. There will be no access or egress for Paradise Street at its junction with Castle Street. The alternative route for vehicles to enter Paradise Street is via Park End St -Tidmarsh Lane, or Hollybush Row-St Thomas Street. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.
Exemptions are included for the emergency services subject to the progress of works, and for works related vehicles. This Notice is further to the Oxfordshire County Council (Oxford, Castle Street & Norfolk Street) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order 2017 & (Oxford City,Westgate Area) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order 2014.
