Notice of Temporary Traffic Order Oxford -A4I44Abingdon Road andA420 Thames Street Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 30 August 2017 Coming into force: 6 September 2017 This Order is being introduced because of repairs to Folly Bridge and resurfacing works which are anticipated to take six weeks to complete.
This Order is being introduced because of repairs to Folly Bridge and resurfacing works which are anticipated to take six weeks to complete.
The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding or waiting, as follows:
1) A4144 Abingdon Road - between the junctions of Western Road and A420 Thames Street - in both directions - overnight 7pm to 6am - as required between 6 September and 8 October 2017.
Diversion:
Via A420 St Aldates, High Street, A4I58 Iffley Road, B4495 Donnington Road, Weirs Lane, A4I44 Abingdon Road and vice versa.
2) A420 Thames Street - Eastward from adjacent to Stephenson House and Saxon Beck to the junction with A420 St Aldates - 24 hours a day 6 September to 8 October 2017.
Diversion: For traffic travelling Eastward towards St Aldates and Abingdon Road:
Speedwell Street, A420 St Aldates and A4I44 Abingdon
Road.
Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.
There will be no through route over Folly Bridge available for police, fire and ambulance services when the A4I44 Abingdon Road is closed.A through route will be maintained via the diversion above while the A420 Thames Street, Eastbound, is closed. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner
