A34 TRUNK ROAD (OXFORDSHIRE) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A34 Trunk Road in the County of Oxfordshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order would be to authorise the:
a) overnight closure of:
i. the roads leading to and from the northbound carriageway of the A34 at West Ilsley Interchange;
ii. the road leading from the southbound carriageway of the A34 at Kidlington Interchange (Kidlington Road); and
iii. the road leading from the southbound carriageway of the A34 at Islip Interchange (B4027).
b) the 24 hour closure of the laybys on both carriageways of the A34 between Islip Interchange (B4027) and Weston-on-the-Green

(B430).
These measures would be in the interests of
road safety while contractors undertake sign
replacement and all associated works.
It is expected that the work would last for
approximately 9 weeks starting on or after
Monday 25th September 2017. The overnight
closures would take place between 22:00 and
06:00 (maximum period).
The Order would come into force on
23 September 2017 and have a maximum
duration of eighteen months.
Traffic affected by the closures would be
diverted using the A34, A44, A4185, A4260,
B4027 and Bicester Road.
The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
