A31 TRUNK ROAD (HAMPSHIRE AND DORSET) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A31 Trunk Road in the Counties of Hampshire and Dorset, and the Unitary Authority of Poole, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order will be to authorise:
1. The phased overnight closure of:
a) both carriageways of the A31 between Cadnam Interchange (M27 Junction 1) and BereRegis Roundabout (A35), and all of the slip roads leading to and from this length of carriageway;
b) all of the side roads at junction with the carriageways described in 1. a) above; and
c) all of the bus stops adjacent to the carriageways described in 1. a) above.

2. the 24 hour closure of all lay-bys adjacent to the carriageways described in 1. a) above.

These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake carriageway works and all associated works. It is expected that the work will last for approximately 7 months starting on or after Sunday 17th September 2017. The overnight closures will take place between 21:00 and 06:00 (maximum period).
The Order will come into force on 15 September 2017 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months.
Traffic affected by the closures will be diverted using the A31, A35, A36, A341, A348, A349, A350, A338, B3073, Wimborne Road West, and Wimborne Road East. The routes will vary in accordance with the closures in place.
The temporary closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
