M271 MOTORWAY (NEAR REDBRIDGE) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the M271 Motorway in the County of Hampshire and the Unitary Authority of The City of Southampton, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road.
The effect of the Order would be to authorise the overnight closure of:-
a) both carriageways of the M271 between Redbridge Roundabout and Junction 1;

b) the slip road leading to the southbound carriageway of the M271 at Junction 1; and

c) the slip road leading from the northbound carriageway of the M271 at Junction 1.

These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake resurfacing, white lining, replace road markings and loops and all associated works. It is expected that the work would last for approximately 2 weeks starting on or after Monday 2nd October 2017. The closures would take place between 22:00 and 06:00.
The Order would come into force on 30 September 2017 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months.
Traffic affected by closures would be diverted using the A35, A3057 and Brownhill Way. The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
