(BLENHEIM HALF MARATHON) (SPECIAL EVENT) ORDER 2017
NOTICE is hereby given that on 18 September 2017 Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. This order is being introduced to facilitate the holding of the BHF Blenheim Palace Half Marathon in Blenheim Park and in roads in the Parish of Combe, which is promoted by the British Heart Foundation, Lyndon Place, 2096 Coventry Rd, Sheldon, Birmingham, B26 3YU. The event is to take place on Sunday 1 October and the traffic measures will have the following effects:
Akeman Street -from Park Road to Woodstock
Road
a) no motor vehicles (except for access from the south)
b) no waiting, loading or unloading
c) One Way traffic -towards Woodstock Road (access only)

Boltons Lane, Horns Lane (Robin Hill)

a) Full road closure from Combe Lodge Gate at Blenheim Palace towards Combe village green (Church Walk junction).

Woodstock Road - and Akeman Street from Combe to the B4437
a) One Way traffic -towards Woodstock
b) temporary 30mph speed limit

The alternative vehicle access route for Akeman Street is via Woodstock Road, Combe Road, Chatterpie Lane, West End; for Park Road is via Robin Hill and Boltons Lane; for Woodstock Road is via the B4437 (Charlbury Road) Stonesfield Road,The Ridings, Pound Hill. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for limited access to premises. Exemptions from waiting restrictions are for event support vehicles. Sections of footpaths within Blenheim Estate will be variously diverted and reopened as runners pass. Documents giving detailed particulars of the order are available for public inspection at CountyHall,NewRoad, Oxford OXI IND from 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday and atWoodstock Library,Hensington Road,Woodstock OX20 IJQ from Ipm - 7pm on Mondays and Fridays, from 9.30am - Ipm on Tuesdays, from 9.30am - 5pm on Wednesdays and from 9.30am - Ipm on Saturdays; closed Thursdays.
