NOTICE OF A PUBLIC LOCAL INQUIRY WILDLIFE & COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981 Notice is hereby given that an Inspector will be appointed by the Welsh Ministers to determine; NEWPORT CITY COUNCIL – DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER NO.1 OF 2015 – BRIDLEWAY AT OLD MILL, LANGSTONE, NEWPORT and will attend at Newport City Council Offices, Civic Centre, Newport NP20 4UR ON TUESDAY 03rd OCTOBER 2017 AT 10.00 am to re-open the public inquiry which opened on 04 October 2016 to hear new evidence into the unmodified part of the Order and, concurrently, hold a public local inquiry into the Inspector’s proposed modifications to the Order as contained in her letter dated 24 November 2016. The effect of the Order, if confirmed as made, would be to add a public bridleway from Point A on the Order Map (grid reference 339121E, 190672N) at the northern end of public highway C100/12, proceeding in a westerly direction around Cae Pandy Cottage until it meets the stream and then proceeding in a northerly direction along the stream bed to Point B (Grid Reference 339074E, 190686N) at the southern end of Mill Lane (public highway C94-7), a total distance of approximately 110 metres. The effect of the proposed modifications would be to;
• Throughout the Order: • replace text “…Bridleway…” with text “… Restricted Byway…”; • Within the preamble to the Order: • after text “…a public path.” add text “… and 53(3)(c)(ii) that a highway shown in the map and statement as a highway of a particular description ought to be there shown as a highway of a different description…”; • On the Order plan: • alter the line to show the route as a restricted byway between points A and B; • alter the key to show the restricted byway; • replace text “…NOT TO SCALE…” with text “…1:1,490…”; • add grid references at points A and B.
