M1 MOTORWAY (JUNCTIONS 1-5) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS 1-5)
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the M1 Motorway in the County of Hertfordshireand theLondonBorough of Barnet, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order would be to authorise the phased overnight closureof:-

a) both carriageways of the M1 between Junction 1(Staples Corner/A406) and Junction  (A41/A4008);
b) the road leading to the northbound carriageway of the M1 from Staples Corner roundabout at Junction 1(A406);
c) the road leading to the slip road described in b) above from the road connecting the EdgwareRoad and Staples Corner roundabouts at Junction 1(A406);
d) theroads leading to and from the carriageways described in a) above at Junction 2(A1), London Gateway Services, Junction 4(A41) and Junction 5 (A41/A4008);and
e) the road leading from the southbound carriageway of the M1 at Junction 5 (A41/A4008).

These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake drainage works and all associated work. It is expected that the work would last for approximately 13 weeks starting on or after Monday 4th September 2017. The overnight closures would take place between the following times (maximum period):-

Monday-Thursday nights 22:00-05:30
Friday nights 23:00-06:00
Saturday nights 22:00-06:00
Sunday nights 22:30-05:30

The Order would come into force on 2 September 2017 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months. Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted using other junctions on the M1, and the A1, A41, and the Fairway. The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they areinoperation during the works period. The diversion in operation would vary
according to the closure in force.
