CLAYPATH DURHAM CITY TEMPORARY WAITING LOADING RESTRICTION ORDER 2017

(CLAYPATH, DURHAM CITY) (TEMPORARY WAITING / LOADING RESTRICTION) ORDER 2017 The Council proposes in not less than 7 days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, to prohibit/ restrict all vehicular traffic on Claypath to enable building works to be undertaken. The suspension of parts of The County Council of Durham (Durham City, North East) (Parking and Waiting Restrictions) Consolidation Order 2015 being:
1. Loading Only (Restricted Bays) as detailed in the Article 27 & Sch. 9 (Item 4: Plan DY139);
2. Parking: Disabled Badge Holders Only (Restricted Bays) as detailed in Article 29 & Sch. 12 (Item 4: Plan DY139).
As a result of the above:
A. Prohibition of vehicular traffic All vehicular traffic will be prohibited from waiting/loading/unloading (as depicted on site), except for vehicles displaying a disabled person’s badge and parking disc (on which the driver or other person in charge of the vehicle has marked the quarter hour period during which the period of waiting began to wait) on a 7 mtr length of Claypath that extends north eastwards from nos. 92/92a for a period not exceeding 3 hours, and not being separated by an interval of less than one hour from the previous period of waiting by the same vehicle in the same length of road on the same day; and B. Restriction of all vehicular traffic from waiting except for loading/unloading goods on a 7 mtr length of Claypath that extends north eastwards from
B. above (between nos. 91 to 91a/b). The maximum duration of a temporary closure under the Order is usually 18 months, however the Council are satisfied that the execution of the building works proposed will take longer. The restrictions / prohibition under the Order are required from 18 August 2017 for the duration of the works, anticipated to be around 25 months However, on rare occasions, alternative dates may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
