A303 TRUNK ROAD (NEAR BULLINGTON) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A303 Trunk Road in the County of Hampshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order would be to authorise:
1. the overnight closure of the slip road leading from the westbound carriageway of the A303 at Bullington Cross (A34); and
2. the 24-hour closure of the lay-by adjacent to the eastbound carriageway of the A303 between points 1010 metres and 1270 metres east of the Winchester Road Overbridge.
These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake sign replacement and all associated works. It is expected that the work would last for approximately 3 weeks starting on or after Wednesday 6th September 2017. The closure of the slip road would take place between 22:00 and 06:00 (maximum period). The Order would come into force on 4 September 2017 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months. Traffic affected by the closure would be diverted using the A303 to the Barton Stacy Interchange and return. The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
