A2 AND A282 TRUNK ROADS (NEAR DARTFORD) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A2 and A282 Trunk Roads in the County of Kent, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order would be to authorise the phased overnight closureof:
a) the clockwise link road connecting the A282 Junction 1b (A225/A296) roundabout to the Junction 2(A2) roundabout;
b) the clockwise exit slip road leading from the A282 at Junction 2(A2); and
c) the A282/M25 Junction 2(A2)roundabout. These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake carriageway resurfacing, road markings, studs and loops replacement, bridge maintenance, crack and joint sealing, inlay resurfacing, carriageway and structural inspections, and all associated work. It is expected that the work would last for approximately 9 weeks starting on or after Monday 4th September 2017. The closures would take place at the following times:-
a) Monday-Thursday nights 22:00-05:30
b) Friday nights 23:00-06:00
c)Saturday nights 22:00-06:00
d) Sunday nights 22:30-05:30
The Order would come into force on 2 September 2017 and have amaximum duration of eighteen months. Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted using the A2, A282 and A296.
The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they areinoperation during the works period.
