THE A35 TRUNK ROAD (BRIDPORT BYPASS, DORSET) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited(a) intends to make an Order on the A35 trunk road at Bridport in the County of Dorset under section 16A(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose of facilitating the holding of arelevant event. The special event is expected to take place on Sunday 20 August 2017 between 7.00pm and 11.00pm.

The effect of the Order would be to authorise the closure of:
(i) the A35 Bridport Bypass from a point 10 metres east of the centre of its junction with the B3162 to its junction with East Road Roundabout;
(ii) the layby adjacent to the A35 Bridport Bypass.

This measure would be in the interests of road safety during the holding of the Bridport Carnival Torchlight Procession. During the event, adiversion route through Bridport on the B3162 would be well signed. The road closure and layby closure would be clearly indicated by traffic signs during the event. The Order would come into force on 18 August 2017 and have a maximum duration of one month.
