Temporary Closure of Public Footpath Nos. 25 Bridport and 18 Burton Bradstock

DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along footpath W1/25 and W7/I8, from grid reference SY 464 902 to grid reference SY 474 898 a distance of approximately 1100 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on the 11 August 2017 for a period of 6 months. But it can be, extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary. The order is required for Health and Safety reasons due to a large cliff fall that has destroyed the footpath. On this occasion there is no reasonable alternative route.
