Temporary 30mph Speed Limit on B3073, Christchurch Road & Blackwater Junction, Christchurch
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14
[1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. The order will come into operation on the 01st August 2017 at 00:01hrs and will remain in force for 18 months. It is anticipated that the works will be completed by the 31st January 2019. The order is to create a safer working area for Dorset County Council, in partnership with Bournemouth Borough Council, whilst works are undertaken in relation to the Blackwater junction improvement scheme. The effect of the order is as follows;
[1] To impose a temporary 30mph speed limit upon the B3073, Christchurch, on both carriageways from approximately 350 metres north west, of the Blackwater West junction to approximately the existing 30mph speed limit, commencing on the South East Carriageway of the B3073, approximately 550 metres East of the Blackwater East junction, a distance of approximately 1250 metres.
[2] To impose a temporary 30mph speed limit upon, on both East and West junctions of the On and Off Slip roads between A338, and the B3073, a total distance of approximately 650 metres.
