NEWPORT CITY COUNCIL (CORPORATION ROAD (PART) NEWPORT) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2017
Notice is hereby given that Newport City Council in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) has made an order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along Corporation Road (southern end) – area under the railway bridge. There is no alternative route. The reason for making the order is to enable essential bridge inspection works to be undertaken. The order is operative from 2 August (23.00 hrs) - 3 August 2017 (06.00 hrs) (overnight only) and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will be completed in one night. Pedestrian access will be available. Emergency vehicle access will be available through the closed section of carriageway with a short delay to move plant.
