ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 WOKINGHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL (CHURCH LANE, SHINFIELD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2017
NOTICE IS HEREBY given that on 26th July 2017 the Wokingham Borough Council as Traffic Authority made an Order under Section 14 (1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") and all other enabling powers the effect of which is to continue in force the restrictions contained in a Notice under Section 14 (2) of the Act dated 26th July 2017 prohibiting any vehicle from proceeding along Church Lane, Shinfield between its junctions with the B3349 Basingstoke Road and Hyde End Lane.

The restrictions are necessary to enable Taylor Wimpey contractors to undertake roundabout construction works as part of the nearby development. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by this restriction shall be via B3349 Basingstoke Road, B3349 Hyde End Road, B3349 School Green, A327 Hollow Lane, A327 Shinfield Road, and Brookers Hill. The restrictions shall only apply during those periods when traffic signs in accordance with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Direction 2016 are lawfully displayed in the said roads. The Order shall come into operation on the 30th July 2017 and shall continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. It is however expected that works requiring this restriction will be completed by 3rd September 2017.
