M25 MOTORWAY

M25 MOTORWAY (BUCKINGHAMSHIRE AND HERTFORDSHIRE) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the M25 Motorway in the Counties of Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order would be to:

a) authorise the phased overnight closureof:

i) the road connecting the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25 to the southbound carriageway of the M40 at Junction 16 (M40 Junction 1A); and
ii) theroads leading to and from the clockwise carriageway of the M25 at Junction 17 (A405).

b) impose an overnight 50mph speed restriction on:

i) the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25 between Junction 21 (M1 Junction 6A) and Junction 15 (M4 Junction 4B);
ii) theclockwise carriageway of the M25 between Junction 16 (M40 Junction 1A) and Junction 20 (A41); and
iii) all slip roads leading to and from the lengths of carriageway described in b) i and ii above.

These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake carriageway resurfacing, road markings, studs and loops replacements, bridge maintenance, crack and joint sealing, inlay resurfacing, carriageway and bridge inspections and all associated work. It is expected that the work would last for approximately 13 weeks starting on or after Monday 14th August 2017. The overnight closures and speed restrictions would take place between the following times (maximum period):
Monday-Thursday nights 22:00-05:30
Friday nights 23:00-06:00
Saturday nights 22:00-06:00
Sunday nights 22:30-05:30

The Order would come into force on 12 August 2017 and have amaximum duration of eighteen months. Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted using the M25 and M40. The temporary closures, speed restrictions and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they areinoperation during the works period.
