THE A40 TRUNK ROAD -DENHAM ROUNDABOUT TEMPORARYOVERNIGHT CLOSURES
Notice is hereby given that the Highways England Company Limited(a) has made an Order on the A40 Trunk Road, in the County of Buckinghamshire, under section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order will be to authorise the overnight closure of sections of carriageway of Denham Roundabout, and the slip road leading to the eastbound carriageway of the A40 at M40 Junction 1(A40/A4020/A412/Denham Court Drive). These measures will be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake cyclical maintenance works. Access to and from the Anoopam Spiritual Centre will be permitted during the closure at (a) above and during the closures at (b) to (e) above, access to and from all the side roads at Denham roundabout will be maintained. It is expected that the work will take place for 1-2 nights for each closure every two months between- 1-2 22:00 and 05:30 on Monday - Thursday nights; 23:00 and 06:00 on Friday nights; 22:00 and 06:00 on Saturday nights; and 22:30 and 05:30 on Sunday nights. The Order will come into force on 1 August 2017 and have a maximum duration of twelve months. During the closure of the slip road outlined above, traffic affected will be diverted south and east on the A4020 (Oxford Road) and north on the B483 (Park Road) to join the eastbound A40 at Swakeley's roundabout. During closures of sections of the carriageway on the roundabout outlined above, the roundabout will only be closed in one direction at a time allowing access in the opposite direction at all times.
The slip road closure, roundabout carriageway closures, diversion routes and access arrangements will be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works periods.
