ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 WOKINGHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL (A321 TWYFORD ROAD, WOKINGHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2017 NOTICE IS HEREBY given that on the 17th July 2017 Wokingham Borough Council as Traffic Authority Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along A321 Twyford Road, Wokingham between its junctions with Pound Lane and B3034 Forest Road. The reason for these prohibitions is to enable Highways England contractors to undertake essential bridge re-waterproofing and associated works in safety.
The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the restriction above shall be via B3034 Forest Road, Maidenhead Road, The Straight Mile, B3016 Waltham Road, A321 Hurst Road, A321 Broadwater Lane and A321 Wokingham Road, or by this route in reverse. These restrictions shall only be in effect during those periods that traffic signs complying with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 are lawfully displayed. Access for residents and businesses within the boundary of the restriction shall be maintained at all times. The restrictions contained in this Order shall come into operation on the 26th July 2017 and shall continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. It is however expected that works requiring the restriction shall be completed by 3rd September 2017. The restriction shall only be in effect between the hours of 06:00 and 20:00 between those dates.
