THE BOROUGH OF BLACKBURN WITH DARWEN (ESSEX STREET, DARWEN) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2017
NOTICE is hereby given that the Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, made the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to allow works to replace a manhole frame and cover to be carried out. The effect of the Order is to close Essex Street, Darwen, to all vehicular traffic at its junction with Marsh House Lane.

The diversion route for southbound traffic will be via Essex Street, Sudell Road, Sudellside Street, and Marsh House Lane. The diversion route for northbound traffic will be via Marsh House Lane, Norfolk Street, Sudell Road and Essex Street.

The Order will come into force on Friday, 21 st July 2017, and shall continue in force for a period of eighteen months or until the works are completed whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated that the works will be completed on the same day.

This is a full closure - there will not be any access for pedestrians or emergency vehicles.
