NOTICE IS GIVEN that under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Lake DistrictNational Park Authorityhas madetwo ordersdated 17 July2017. Theeffect of the ordersistoprohibit public traffic forall purposes from proceeding over Footpath 561008/575029 at FrostHole, between SD 4866 9898 and SD 4864 9892, and Footpath 561009/575016 at BirkField,between SD 4826 9902 and SD 4866 9898, in Strickland Roger and Over Staveley Parishes,toenablebridge replacement work.
Thenotices and plans showing the routes concerned maybe inspectedduring normal office or opening hoursat the National Park AuthorityOffices,Murley Moss, Oxenholme Road,Kendal,LA9 7RL; at South Lakeland DistrictCouncil,South Lakeland District Council,South Lakeland House, Lowther Street,Kendal, LA9 4DQ; and at Staveley Post Office, 22 Main Street,Staveley, Kendal,CumbriaLA8 9LN; and are alsoavailable online at www.lakedistrict.gov.uk/visiting/thingstodo/rowclosures.
Theorderswill take effect on 22 July2017and will continue in forcefor sixmonths,but it is expectedthat foreachorder, the path will be closed during worksfor onlyabout twoweeks during this period. Thepaths at FrostHole and BirkField will notbeclosed at thesame time, so an alternativeroute will always be available. When worksare taking place, signs will be erectedshowing the closed paths and the alternativeroutes. Thepaths will be accessible as normalother than on thesedays, If theworks have not been completed the ordersmay be extended forafurther period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
