ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 WOKINGHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL (NIGHTINGALE AVENUE, DARTINGTON AVENUE, CLIVEDALE ROAD, COPPICE ROAD AND SUTCLIFFE AVENUE, WOODLEY AND EARLEY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING AND WAITING) ORDER 2017 NOTICE IS HEREBY given that on the 17th July 2017 Wokingham Borough Council as Traffic Authority made an Order under Section 14 (1) (a) and 14 (7) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along:
a) Dartington Avenue, Woodley between its junctions with Nightingale Road and the footpath connecting Dartington Avenue and Clivedale Road. There is no alternative route for this closure as it is a no through road.
b) Clivedale Road, Woodley between its junctions with the footpath connecting Dartington Avenue and Clivedale Road.and Coppice Road. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by this restriction shall be via Keats Road, Knowle Road and Coppice Road, or by this route in reverse.
c) Coppice Road, Woodley between its junctions with Clivedale Road and Loddon Bridge Road. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by this restriction shall be via Drovers Way, Crockhamwell Road and Loddon Bridge Road, or by this route in reverse.
d) Sutcliffe Avenue, Earley between its junctions with A329 Wokingham Road and Hillside Road. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by this restriction shall be via Sutcliffe Avenue (eastern section), Meadow Road and A329 Wokingham Road, or by this route in reverse and to:
e) Prohibit any vehicle from waiting at any time in Nightingale Road between its junctions with Hazel Drive and Dartington Avenue.
The reason for these restrictions is to enable SSE contractors to undertake essential electricity main installation in safety.
The restriction shall only be in effect whilst the necessary traffic signs complying with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 are lawfully displayed. Access for residents and business users within the boundary of these closures shall be maintained at all times. The restriction contained in this Order shall come into operation on the 24th July 2017 and shall continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. It is however expected that works requiring the restriction detailed in:
* Item a) above shall commence on 18th August 2017 and are expected to be completed by 24th August 2017;
* Item b) above shall commence of 1st August 2017 and are expected to be completed by 1st September 2017;
* Item c) above shall commence on 8th August 2017 and are expected to be completed by 18th August 2017
* Item d) above shall commence on 20th September 2017 and are expected to be completed by 21st September 2017
* Item e) above shall commence on 24h July 2017 and are expected to be completed by 17th August 2017.
