ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 WOKINGHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL (TOUTLEY ROAD, WOKINGHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2017
NOTICE IS HEREBY given that on the M" July 2017 Wokingham Borough Council as Traffic Authority made an Order under Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along Toutley Road, Wokingham between its junctions with Old Forest Road and Emmbrook Road. The reason for this prohibition is to enable Bovis Homes contractors to undertake junction improvement works in association with the Northern Distributor Road. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by this restriction shall be via Old Forest Road, Commons Road and Emmbrook Road, or by this route in reverse.
The restriction shall only be in effect whilst the necessary traffic signs complying with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 are lawfully displayed. Access for residents and business users within the boundary of the restriction shall be maintained at all times. The restriction contained in this Order shall come into operation on the 26th July 2017 and shall continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. It is however expected that works requiring this restriction will be completed by 8th September 2017.
