Notice of Temporary Traffic Order Oxford, Brewer Street Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 3 July 2017 Coming into force: 11 July 2017 This Order is being introduced because of window repairs to Pembroke College that require scaffolding on the highway, which are anticipated to take till the 5 September 2017 to complete.

This Order is being introduced because of window repairs to Pembroke College that require scaffolding on the highway, which are anticipated to take till the 5 September 2017 to complete.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit motor vehicles proceeding in Brewer Street through the closure point. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works, for cycles and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for vehicle access to the western end of Brewer Street is via St Aldates, Speedwell Street, Albion Place & Littlegate Street.

The relevant parts of The Oxfordshire County Council (City of Oxford) (Central Area) (Traffic Management) (Consolidation) Order 2003 (as amended) will be suspended to temporarily remove the one-way restriction on Brewer Street to allow access from either end. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.
