ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 WOKINGHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL
(NEW WOKINGHAM ROAD, ELLIS ROAD AND EDGCUMBE PARK DRIVE, WOKINGHAM WITHOUT) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2017 NOTICE IS HEREBY given that Wokingham Borough Council as Traffic Authority proposes to make an Order under Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along:

1. New Wokingham Road, Wokingham Without between its junctions between Heathermount Drive and B3348 Dukes Ride The alternative route for all vehicles affected by this restriction shall be via New Wokingham Road (northern section), B3430 Nine Mile Ride, Lower Wokingham Road and B3348 Dukes Ride, or by this route in reverse.

2. Edgcumbe Park Drive, Wokingham Without between its junctions with New Wokingham and The Chase. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by this restriction shall be via Edgcumbe Park Drive (western section) and B338 Dukes Ride, or by this route in reverse.

3. Ellis Road, Wokingham Without between its junctions with New Wokingham Road and The Avenue. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by this restriction shall be via Edgcumbe Park Drive (western section) and B338 Dukes Ride, or by this route in reverse.

The reason for these restrictions is to enable Wokingham Borough Council contractors to undertake crossing and junction improvements in safety.

The restrictions will only be in effect whilst traffic signs complying with the Traffic Signs Regulations 2016 are lawfully displayed. Access for residents and businesses within the boundary of the restrictions will be maintained at all times. The restriction will come into operation on the 4th August 2017 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. It is however expected that works requiring these restrictions will be completed by 10th August 2017.
