A31 TRUNK ROAD - ASHLEY HEATH TO CANFORD BOTTOM TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A31 Trunk Road in the County of Dorset, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order is to authorise the phased overnight closure of:-

(a) the westbound carriageway of the A31 between Ameysford Roundabout and Uddens Drive junction;
(b) the eastbound carriageway of the A31 between Canford Bottom Roundabout and Ameysford Roundabout;
(c) the eastern section of Ameysford Roundabout between the exit and entry points of the A31;
(d) the eastbound carriageway of the A31 through Canford Bottom Roundabout;
(e) Boundary Lane at junction with the A31 at Boundary Lane Roundabout;
(f) the entrance to Forest Links Road at junction with the A31 at Ameysford Roundabout; and
(g) the road leading from Canford Bottom Roundabout to the eastbound carriageway of the A31.

These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake the replacement of direction signs. It is expected that the work will last for approximately 7 weeks starting on or after Monday 24th July 2017. The overnight closures will take place between 22:00 and 06:00 (maximum period). The Order will come into force on 22 July 2017 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months. Eastbound traffic affected by the closure in e) above will be diverted to Verwood Road Junction (B3081), then use Hurn Lane, Hurn Road and Boundary Lane. Boundary Lane traffic wishing to access the A31 will follow the same route in reverse. Traffic affected by the closures in a) – d) and g) above will be diverted using the A31, A347, and Wimborne Road. Access into Forest Links Road will be maintained under escort.
