THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (A59 GISBURN ROAD, SAWLEY, RIBBLE VALLEY) (TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2017
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit any person to cause or permit any motor vehicle or cycle from proceeding at a speed exceeding 40 MPH over that length of A59 Gisburn Road, Chatburn/ Sawley, from a point 400m south west of its junction with Sawley Road to a point 535 metres north east of its junction with Sawley Old Brow, a distance of approximately 1690 metres in a north easterly direction. Also A59 Gisburn Road, Gisburn, from a point 760 m south west of its junction with Clitheroe Road for a distance of 1250 metres in a south westerly direction And: 30 MPH over that length of A59 Gisburn Road, Sawley, from a point 535 metres north east of its junction with Sawley Old Brow for a distance of 1608 metres in a north easterly direction. No speed limit imposed by this (order) (notice) applies to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations The Police, Fire and Ambulance Services have been informed. The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow Temporary Speed limit orders. The prohibition will be operative from 0600 hours on Wednesday 12th July 2017 until 2000 hours on Wednesday 19th July 2017.
