Notice of Temporary Byway Closure East Hanney BOAT 198/7 Byway Open to All Traffic Width Restriction of 5 feet (1.52m) Date of Order: 3 July 2017 Coming into force: 12 July 2017 This Order continues in force an emergency closure for public safety reasons of a partial closure of Halls Lane Bridge leading to Poughley Farm on 31 May 2017 due to its deteriorating structure. Remedial works are necessary for future use which involve survey, design and construction work and finance appropriation before a timescale for repairs can be advised. The effect of the Order is to temporarily restrict the width of the bridge over Letcombe Brook situated at the eastern termination of Halls Lane, which then becomes BOAT 198/7 as it continues over the bridge. This is to prevent only use by motor vehicles and trailers which exceed 5 feet (1.52m) width.

Exemptions are included for highway repair vehicles only. Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 6 months and may be extended as required on application for consent to the Secretary of State for Transport.
