NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director of Infrastructure Places Directorate of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to him by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough Council (Leigh No.155)(part)) (Temporary Bridleway Closure) Order 2017
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person, except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable, from using Leigh No.155 from Point A as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 364939 400003 to Point B as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 364664 399192 for a distance of approximately 870 metres in a generally south-south westerly direction. An alternative route will be available from Point A along the canal tow path to Point C at grid reference 365189 399892 in an easterly direction for a distance of approximately 270 metres. At Point C the route drops down on to Waterview Park Road and follows the road round to the south west on to the south west on to Wintergreen Close then south along Ledgard Avenue to Point D at grid reference 364860 399578 a distance of approximately 570 metres. At point D cross the main access road in to Leigh Sports Village and follow the pavement towards the roundabout and then south along the Atherieigh Way; this path continues behind Morrisons and drops down behind the hotel and college to an existing public footpath at Point E grid reference 364708 399185 a distance of approximately 475 metres. From here follow public footpath Leigh No. 163 along Westleigh Brook under the Atherieigh Way to Point A. This section will be closed for a period of six months commencing on 17th July 2017 to safeguard the public during the construction of a surface water outfall of the Pennington Park Residential Development.
