(A177 NETPARK, SEDGEFIELD) (TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2017
The Council on 21/06/17 made an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from travelling at a speed in excess of: A) 50mph along a 350m length of A177 that extends southwards from a point 30m north of the kerb line to High Road, and including 50m lengths of High Road and C26 leading to Fishburn; B) 30mph along a 880m length of A177 that extends southwards from the southern point of A) and including a 40m length of Joseph Swan Road leading into Net Park; and C) 50mph along a 350m length of A177 that extends southwards from the southern point of B) to enable new road junction construction works to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the temporary speed restriction under the Order is 18 months and is required from 26/06/17 and for the duration of the works anticipated to be 21 weeks. However, on rare occasions, alternative dates for the speed restriction may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly. No speed limit imposed by the Order applies to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011(a) when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.
