CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) and 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 22nd day of June 2017 continuing in force the restrictions in respect of the location numbered (1) and on the said date in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Act made an Order in respect of each of the locations numbered (2), (3), (4). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (5), (6), (7), (8) and (9).
(1) A19 & FORDLANDS ROAD, YORK
This Order continues in force The York (A19 & Fordlands Road) (Temporary Traffic Restrictions) Order 2016 (original Order) that Order having an expiry date on the 30th day of June 2017. This is necessary to ensure that carriageway construction works being undertaken thereon can continue to be carried out safely. The effect of the Order is to continue in force the prohibition on pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in the footway on (i) A19 (Main Street, Fulford/Selby Road, York) York, between its junction with Fordlands Road and the north eastern property boundary line of Stonebridge House and (ii) Fordlands Road, York, between the projected northern property boundary line of No. 151 Main Street, Fulford and a point 120 metres south of the said line (closed footpaths) during the period commencing at 0001 hours on the 1st day of July 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 30th day of September 2017 (works period) or at the end of the works period whichever is the earlier. During the works period an alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed. It is envisaged that the restriction will only be put into effect on the eastern footpath of the A19 during the works period.
(2) VANGARDE WAY, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Vangarde Way, York (closed road) during the period when carriageway remedial works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 28th day June 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 11th day of July 2017 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put into effect in two phases during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(3) MILLFIELD LANE, NETHER POPPLETON This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Millfield Lane, Nether Poppleton between its junctions with Church Lane and Nether Way (closed road) during the period commencing at 0800hrs on the 26th day June 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 28th day of June 2017 or at a time when water works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(4) RACECOURSE ROAD, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Racecourse Road, York (closed road) during the period when nearby delivery works being undertaken by crane operation from the closed road, that period commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 1630hrs on the 27th day of June 2017 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. No alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(5) NEW EARSWICK FOOTPATH NO. 29/2/30, NEW EARSWICK This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in that length of closed footpath, known as New Earswick Footpath No 29/2/30 between points 50 meters south and 50 meters north of the footbridge (closed footpath) during the period when works associated with the reconstruction of the culvert headwall and re-lining of culvert that runs under the railway are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0800hrs on 3rd day of July 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 4th day of August 2017 (works period) or at a time and date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(6) CLARENCE STREET, GILLYGATE AND LORD MAYOR'S WALK, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in (i) Clarence Street, York (ii) Gillygate, York and (iii) Lord Mayor's Walk, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 2000hrs on the 3rd day of July 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 7th day of July 2017 (works period) or at time when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put into effect during overnight periods between 2000hrs and 0600hrs during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(7) STRENSALL COMMON ROAD LEVEL CROSSING, STRNSALL This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding through the Strensall Common Road Level Crossing on Common Road, Strensall (closed road) during the period commencing at 2300hrs on 8th day of July 2017 and ending at 0900hrs on the 9th day of July 2017 or at time when track maintenance works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via York Lane, Cross Lane, Smith's Lane, Common Road and vice versa.
(8) CINDER LANE, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Cinder Lane, York between its junctions with Heworth Green and Wood Street (closed road) during the period commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 1700hrs on the 10th day of July 2017 (works period) or at time when water works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(9) GROSVENOR ROAD, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from waiting from 10am to 10pm in unrestricted lengths on the south side of Grosvenor Road, York between its junctions with Bootham Crescent and the service road to Grosvenor Park (restricted road) and, additionally, to impose a prohibition on vehicles from proceeding between the said times in the restricted road. The Order will be effective during the period from 1st July 2017 to 31st May 2018. This is because of the likelihood of danger arising. It is envisaged that the restrictions and prohibition will only be put in place on the occasion of a football match or other sporting event at the adjacent football stadium and only for such period within the specified times as is necessary to ensure safety. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via: Burton Stone Lane, Clifton, Bootham Crescent and vice versa.
The above temporary Order will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns.
