A1089 TRUNK ROAD NEAR TILBURY TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice Is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A1089 Trunk Road in the Unitary Authority of Thurrock, under Sections 14(1)(a) and 15(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on and in the vicinity of the road. The effect of the Order is to:-
a) impose an overnight 40mph speed limit on;
i) the northbound carriageway of the A1089 between Asda Roundabout and the exit slip road at Marshfoot Interchange (A126); and
ii) Asda Roundabout; and
b) authorise the overnight closure of;
i) the lay-by adjacent to the length of carriageway described in a) i) above;
ii) Thurrock Park Way at junction with Asda Roundabout; and
iii) the cycle track running adjacent to the northbound carriageway of the A1089 between Asda Roundabout and Old Dock Approach Road.
These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake cycleway improvement works including resurfacing, signing, road marking, drainage, kerbing, paving, fencing, barrier installation and all associated work.
It is expected that the work will last for approximately 9 weeks starting on or after Saturday 1 st July 2017. The overnight closures and speed limit in a) and b) i) and iii) will take place between (maximum period);
22:00 - 05:30 Monday to Thursday nights
23:00 - 06:00 Friday nights
22:00 - 06:00 Saturday nights
22:30 - 05:30 Sunday nights
The closure in b) ii) above will apply Sunday nights only.
The Order will come into force on 29th June 2017 and have a maximum duration of six months. The closures and speed limit will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
