NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.
The effect of orders 1) & 2) is to replace the existing unrestricted (60mph) by:
a) extending the 30mph Sutton Courtenay speed limit on Harwell Road/Sutton Courtenay Road southwards to a point 470 metres south of its junction with Bradstocks Way, and
b) thereafter to become 40mph onto Milton Road through the Didcot parish boundary up to the Basil Hill roundabout junction with the A4130.
The northernmost part of the above 30mph proposal is associated with development of adjacent land in Sutton Courtenay.
The effect of order 3) in Harwell Parish is:
a) to replace the 40mph limit with 30mph on the B4493 Harwell to Didcot road (from west to east over the A34) so as to provide a continuous 30mph limit between the towns, and
b) to introduce a 50mph speed limit on the new Harwell Link road (under construction with new roundabouts at either end) between the B4493 Didcot Road to the A417 Reading Road.
There is also a minor administrative change for the 40mph limit on Chilton Road from 221 to 250 metres being the easternmost point the limit ends before the A417 Upton. Some aspects of these proposals were advertised separately for consultation in 2015 and 2016 which are now superseded.
The following Oxfordshire County Council orders will be revoked/replaced: (Harwell and Various Parishes) (Speed Limits) Order 2016; (Didcot Area) (Speed Limits) Order 2015; (Sutton Courtenay) (Speed Limits) Order 2012. Objections to the proposals and other representations specifying the grounds on which they are made may be sent in writing to the address below (or via the web address above) by no later than 21 July 2017.The Council will consider objections and representations received in response to this Notice.They may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.
