The County of Dorset [Various Roads, Christchurch] Traffic Management Scheme

In connection with the New Twynham Primary School in Marsh Lane, Christchurch, Dorset County Council proposes to:

[1] To make an Amendment Order to 'The Borough of Christchurch (Various Roads and Parking Places) (Consolidation of Orders Made for Waiting and On Street Parking Places) Order 2013' under relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ('the Act') and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of The Local Authorities' Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with statutory requirement and in compliance with the 1996 Regulations. The effect of the Order will be to introduce new or amend existing restrictions in:

? Fairmile Road ? Bronte Avenue





? Flambard Avenue ? Suffolk Avenue





? Haworth Close ? Walcott Avenue





? Marsh Lane



Relevant exemptions will apply where appropriate and as necessary in accordance with the provisions of the Order.

Full details of this proposal are contained in the Draft Order which, together with plans showing the lengths of roads affected and a statement of the County Council's reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be inspected from Monday to Friday during normal office hours at: - Main Reception, Dorset County Council, County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester and Christchurch Borough Council, Civic Offices, Bridge Street, Christchurch.

[2] Under Section 90A of the Highway Act 1980 to construct speed cushions in Suffolk Avenue, Marsh Lane, Walcott Avenue and Bronte Avenue and a speed table in Marsh Lane, at the following locations;

1. Construct a set of two speed cushions in Suffolk Avenue approximately 23 metres north east of its junction with Huntingdon gardens.



2. Construct a speed table in Marsh Lane at the entrance to Twynham Primary School.



3. Construct a set of two speed cushions in Walcott Avenue approximately 20 metres south west its junction with Marsh Lane.



4. Construct a set of two speed cushions in Marsh Lane approximately 22 metres south of its junction with Walcott Avenue.



5. Construct a set of three speed cushions in Marsh Lane approximately 40 metres north of its junction with Flambard Avenue.



6. Construct a set of two speed cushions in Bronte Avenue approximately 29 metres south of its junction with Flambard Avenue.



Each speed cushion will be 75mm high and constructed to Department for Transport specification. The speed table will be 19 metres long with 75mm high ramps and constructed to Department of Transport specification.

Plans showing the locations of the speed cushions and speed table, may be inspected

from Monday to Friday during normal office hours at:- Main Reception, Dorset

County Council, County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester and Christchurch Borough

Council, Civic Offices, Bridge Street, Christchurch.
