THE M6 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 29 NORTHBOUND AND SOUTHBOUND ENTRY & EXIT SLIP & LINK ROADS) AND M65 [JUNCTION 1 EASTBOUND & WESTBOUND ENTRY & EXIT SLIP ROADS) [TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2017
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order on the M6 and M65 Motorways in the Boroughs of Chorley and South Ribble in the County of Lancashire to enable resurfacing, renewal of road markings, road studs, traffic detector loops, and high friction surfacing, crack repair works, and other general maintenance works; to be carried out in safety. The Order will ban all traffic from the following sections of the M6 and M65 Motorways:
i. the M6 northbound exit slip road at Junction 29;
ii. the M6 southbound entry slip road at Junction 29;
iii. the M65 westbound entry and exit slip roads at Junction 1;
iv. the M65 eastbound entry and exit slip roads at Junction 1;
v. the M6 northbound to M65 westbound link road;
vi. the M65 westbound to M6 southbound link road;
vii. the northbound link road between the M6 Junction 29/M65 Junction 1 roundabout and the A6, from where it leaves the M6 Junction 29/M65 Junction 1 roundabout, to where it joins with the A6 roundabout;
viii. the southbound link road between the A6 and the M6 Junction 29/M65 Junction 1 roundabout, from where it leaves the A6 southbound to the M65 eastbound link road, to the first point at which it joins the M6 Junction 29/M65 Junction
1 roundabout;
ix. all of the carriageway that forms the M6 Junction 29/M65 Junction 1 roundabout.
The prohibitions are expected to take place overnight between 2000 hours and 0500 hours (continuing to 0700 hours on Saturday and Sunday mornings) during a period starting on Wednesday 19 July 2017 and ending on Friday 1 September 2017. However, work may start and continue between the same times on subsequent nights until completed. Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the M6, M65, A6, and local roads will be well signed. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will be indicated by traffic signs, and will not apply to emergency services, works, or traffic officer vehicles.
