(A690 LOW WILLINGTON) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2017
The Council on 08/06/17 made an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, to close to all vehicular traffic a 380m length of A690 that extends westwards from its junction with Kingsmead, Low Willington to 6m west of No.47 Commercial Street, Willington to enable carriageway resurfacing works to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is required between 7:00am and 7:00pm on two consecutive weekends (scheduled to be 17 & 18 June 2017 and 24 & 25 June 2017). However, on rare occasions, alternative dates/times for closures may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly. Alternative route: from the western side of the closure from the A690 traffic light controlled crossroads via Bourne Way/ Colliery Road and the link road through Low Willington Ind Est to Barnfield Way and return to the A690 to the eastern side of the closure and vice versa.
(A177 NET PARK, SEDGEFIELD) (TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2017
The Council proposes in not less than 7 days from the date ofthis notice to make an Order under Section 14 (1) ofthe Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from travelling at a speed in excess of:
A) 50mph along a 350m length of A177 that extends southwards from a point 30m north of the kerb line to High Road, and including 50mlengths ofHigh Road and C26 leading to Fishburn;
B) 30mph along a 880m length of A177 that extends southwards from the southern point of A) and including a 40m length of Joseph Swan Road leading into Net Park; and
C) 50mph along a 350m length of A177 that extends southwards fromthe southern point of B) by reason ofnew road junction construction works to be undertaken. The maximum duration ofthe temporary speed restriction under the Order is 18 months and is required from 26/06/17 and for the duration of the works anticipated to be 21 weeks. However, on rare occasions, alternative dates for the speed restriction may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly. No speed limit imposed by the Order applies to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011(a) when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.
