2. OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS - SOUTH OXFORDSHIRE) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND PERMITTED PARKING) (VARIATION NO.13) ORDER 2017
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 30 May 2017 Oxfordshire County Council made the above Orders under the RoadTraffic Regulation Act 1984 and all enabling legislation, which come into force on 5 June 2017.
Order 1 provides for a Bus only section of road, and also revokes and incorporates the Oxfordshire County Council (Didcot, Station Road and White Leys Close) (Prohibition of Motor Vehicles) Order 2014.
Order 2 further amends the Oxfordshire County Council (Various Roads - South Oxfordshire) (Prohibition and Restriction ofWaiting and Permitted Parking) Order 2008. The effect of order 1 is as follows: To introduce a 55 metres long Buses only lane through the southern (pedestrian) part of Station Road, Didcot which extends (via automatic rising bollards) from a point 65 metres north of Broadway northwards for 55 metres. All other vehicles will be prohibited except for emergency vehicles, essential services, limited access to business properties for deliveries etc. and cycles. The Bus Lane is for use only by scheduled local buses. The access into Station Road from Broadway, to a point before the bollards will be available only for access to properties in that 65 metre section of road. (See also (c) below).
Also the length of the current "Prohibition of Driving" in the northern section of Station Road is amended to run from the Bus Lane to 35 metres south of HitchcockWay The effect of order 2 is as follows:
(a) to extend by 4.5 metres the No Waiting at Any Time in Station Road outside No.69 (as part of highway realignment); and
(b) to extend No Waiting at Any Time from the southern boundary of No. 29 Station Road to its junction with Broadway;
(c) to introduce a "Prohibition of Loading/Unloading" at peak times i.e. 7am to 10am and 4pm to 7pm every day on both sides of Station Road from Broadway northwards (through the new Bus Lane) to the southern boundary of No. 29 Station Road (which will include removal of Disabled parking bays on this northern part of Station Road);
(d) Removal of8 metres of "30 minute limited waiting" on the north side of Broadway in front of No.130 (as part of highway/pavement realignment):
(e) to extend the NoWaiting atAnyTime on the north side of Broadway at its junction with Station Road (as part of highway/pavement realignment).
Documents giving more detailed particulars of the orders are available for public inspection at County Hall, New Road, Oxford, OX 1 IND, between 8.30am and 4pm Monday to Friday; and at Didcot Library, 197 Broadway, OXII 8RU, Monday from Ipm to 7pm, Tuesday and Friday from 9am to 7pm, Wednesday & Thursday from 9am to 5.30pm, and Saturday from 9am to 4.30pm. If you wish to question the validity of this Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of this Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to this Order, you may within six weeks from the 20 May 20I7 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
