(A689 & A177 LITTLE CHEF ROUNDABOUT. SEDGEFIELD) (TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2017

The Council proposes in not less than 7 days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from travelling at a speed in excess of 30mph on: 1) A689 eastbound carriageway from a point 650m west of the Little Chef Roundabout to a point 55m north east of the roundabout, including the A689/A177 Roundabout, and a 20m westbound approach to the roundabout; and 2) A177 north westbound carriageway from a point 65m south east of the Little Chef Roundabout, Sedgefield and south eastbound for a distance of 10m by reason of roundabout modification works and new housing site access works to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the temporary speed restriction under the Order is 18 months and is required from 6.00am on Thurs 08/06/17 and for the duration ofthe works anticipated to be 9 weeks. However, on rare occasions, alternative dates for the speed restriction may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly. No speed limit imposed by the Order applies to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011(a) when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.
